Frog; verb
To unravel a hand knitted or crocheted fabric, either partially or entirely.
The term originates with the similarity between RIP IT (unravel) and RIBBIT
(the sound a frog makes).

Frogging used to be taught in schools (possibly not under the same name though!) but as time has gone on make do and mend fell out of fashion. In recent years recycling and reusing has come back into fashion and more young people are picking up craft skills.
My name is Jam (Jennifer Ann MacKenzie), and I started Frogged in December 2009.
I learned to knit and crochet as a hobby while studying at art school, and wrote my final
dissertation on knitting and crocheting as an artform.
Since then, I've travelled about, living in Amsterdam for a year and then in De Bereklauw,
Belgium for 6 months on an eco art farm. I moved about for a while after that, ending up in Sweden where,
in September 2009, doctors discovered a tumor next to my heart. After a long operation I was left with a
broken sternum held together by metal rings, but was otherwise fit and healthy.
During the recovery period, I had my inspiration for Frogged. I was unable to move about,
so to break the monotony of watching daytime TV all day long, I would crochet presents for people.
Everyone loved them, and told me I should think about doing it as a business - and so Frogged was born.
